Excellent Quick Search in Firefox

One of my favourite feature in Konqueror web browser is it’s web shorcut. And it can be used to do different kind of searches in the Internet. For example if I want to search in Wikipedia, I just need to type “wp: my_search_term” in the URL/Address bar.

I didn’t know firefox can do that! Well, now I know. I just found how to do it. Btw, I am using Firefox 3 beta 5. You may want to go to the page I link on how you can set up your own Quick Search in Firefox.

Tracker Search Error in Hardy

After I upgrade from Kubuntu Gutsy 7.10 to Hardy 8.04, my tracker search tool doesn’t work. After I enter the search string, then it closes down. I tried running tracker-search-tool from command line
tracker-search-tool
and then enter again, but it closes down again, the command line gives the error as follows:

** (tracker-search-tool:18421): WARNING **: Unable to connect to dbus: Failed to execute dbus-launch to autolaunch D-Bus session

** (tracker-search-tool:18421): WARNING **: Unable to connect to dbus: Failed to execute dbus-launch to autolaunch D-Bus session

Segmentation fault

It seems that my trackerd is not running.

From one of the launchpad, I tried running
dbus-launch trackerd

but it gives this error:
The program 'dbus-launch' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
sudo apt-get install dbus-x11
bash: dbus-launch: command not found

so it seems that i don’t have dbus-x11 installed, after running sudo apt-get install dbus-x11, tracker runs again 🙂
